Terms of service
Last updated 15 October 2026
1. This agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Tencias for using Tencias. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them on behalf of yourself and the business you set up. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
You must be at least 18 and able to act for your business.
2. What the service does
Tencias helps you record stock, sales, expenses, customer debts and supplier bills, and shows reports and suggestions based on those records. It is a record-keeping and planning tool. It is not an accounting, tax, legal or investment service, and its reports are not audited financial statements.
3. Your account and team
- Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Each account belongs to one business. The owner can invite managers and staff and decides what each role may do.
- Remove people who should no longer have access. Their past records stay with the business.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Your data
The records you enter belong to your business. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you. You can download a full backup or CSV files at any time.
You are responsible for having a lawful reason to record information about your customers, suppliers and staff, and for keeping it accurate. Don't record more than you need.
5. Figures, reports and the AI assistant
Totals are calculated from what you record, so they are only as accurate as your records. Some figures are estimates and are labelled as such, for example operating profit, which doesn't include tax or every cost.
The assistant explains figures that our servers calculate, but its wording can still be wrong or incomplete. Check important numbers in the reports before you rely on them, and get professional advice for tax, legal or financing decisions. The assistant never changes records on its own: anything it drafts needs you to confirm it.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Tencias to:
- break the law, or record illegal goods or transactions;
- store information you have no right to keep, or harass anyone;
- try to reach another business's data, get around limits or security, or disrupt the service;
- copy, resell or automate access to the service without our written permission.
7. Plans and payments
- During early access, Tencias is free.
- When paid plans begin, we'll give account owners notice in the app and on the Pricing section, with the start date, prices and how to pay.
- After the start date there is a grace period. If a business still hasn't paid when it ends, its team can't open the workspace until payment is recorded, but its records are kept and nothing is deleted.
- Prices are shown in naira and may change with notice. A change applies from your next billing period.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Tencias available and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted or free of errors. We may improve, change or remove features. If we remove something important to paid users, we'll give notice.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Tencias at any time and ask us to close your account through the contact form or a support ticket. Download your records first; we delete them within 30 days of closing the account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Where it's safe to, we'll explain why and give you a chance to download your records.
10. Our responsibility
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost business or decisions made from the figures or the assistant, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian law that can't be limited.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If we can't, the courts of Nigeria will decide.
12. Changes and contact
If we change these terms in an important way, we'll tell account owners in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Questions? Use the contact form.
